New video: The Level Design of ‘Quake’ (1996)

One of the first FPS to make full use of 3D environments had to rethink how to present that environment to players who had never seen anything like it. “Quake” continues Id Software’s design philosophy by applying more verticality, the ability to jump and ingenious traps to keep us on the edge.
